According to the latest official figures,there are Wikipedia sites in 300 different language's,with some 46 million articles accessed by 1.4 billion unique devices every single month,while an army of 200,000 editor's and contributor's patrol this vast repository of online knowledge 24 hours a day.

  Wikipedia count's on Indian reader's with first fundraising campaign.

These banner ads are part of Wikipedia's annual global fundraising Campaigns, but for indian user's, this is  a relatively newer display.

Wikipedia is running a fundraising campaign in India for the first time this year, though similar ads had shown up in India several years ago.

             As of june 2019, Wikipedia had over $165 million of total assets, with over $100 million in cash. The foundation also said in its financial that it had total financial assets of $151 million to meet it's cash for one year.

POINT TO NOTE-

While Wikipedia average donation size globally is $15(over RS 1,100), it's an  appeal to reader's in India its for donations of RS 150 and above. This year, the foundations target for fundraising is $88 million and comes in the middle of global pandemic and economic crisis.
