NEW EDUCATION POLICY IN INDIA 2020

CONSULTATION 
NEP 2020  has been formulated after an unprecedented process of consultation that involved nearly over 2 lakh suggestion from 2.5 lakh gram panchayat, 6600 blocks,  6000 Ulbs, 676 districts. 

 ASSESSMENT REFORMS 

Cabinet approves national education policy 2020,  paving way for transformational reforms in school and higher education system in the country. 

POINT TO NOTE -

Mother tongue, local or regional language as the medium of instruction at least till grade 5 but preferable till grade 8 and beyond. 
No language eill be imposed on any study. 

This is a controversial decision as some education experts believed that emphasis should be on english as it opens door to the worlds. 

DETAILS -

The multilevel play activities  based learning  would 3 years at anganwadi,  pre school or as commonly called play schools and the kndergarten classes catering to ages 3-6.  To this the grade 1 and 2 or class 1and 2 for students of age 6-8 would also be added,  keeping the focus on development of language skill and teaching by play based and activity based curriculum. 

A 10 days bagless period sometimes during grade 6-8 to intern with local  vocational experts such as carpenter, gardeners, potters, artists etc.











TRANSFORMING CURRICULAR AND PEDAGOGICAL STRUCTURE. 

New pedagogical and curricular structure of school  education (5+3+3+4).  3 years in anganwadi/ pre school and 12 years in school.

SECONDARY STAGE (4) -

Multidisciplinary study,  greater clinical thinking,  flexibility and students choices cor subject. 
MIDDLE STAGE (3)-
Experimental learning in science,  mathematics, arts ,  social science  and humanities. 


PREPARATORY STAGE (2) 

Play,  discovery and activity based and inter active class room learning. 

FOUNDATION STAGE (1)-

Multilevel play/activities based learning.
